Michael Jordan’s Fiancee Signs Prenup

Ex-NBA superstar Michael Jordan (pictured) might be all lovey-dovey with his fiance but he reportedly isn’t that blinded by love to not protect his $650-million fortune! Jordan reportedly had his legal eagles draw up a pre-nup, and according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, his fiancée, Yvette Prieto (pictured), signed on the dotted line.

Per the pre-nup, each party will get to keep whatever assets they bring in to the marriage. If Jordan and Prieto don’t make it and decide to divorce, she will receive $1 million for every year she remained married. If the couple splits up after a 10-year-run, Prieto gets to walk away with a whopping $5 million for every year they stayed together.

According to the Daily Mail, though, Prieto is confident that she and her alleged former serial cheater will make it last forever.  An insider told the Daily Mail that Prieto “feels they have a strong relationship. She can’t imagine that they’d ever split up!”

The bride-to-be is a 33-year-old Cuban-American former model who has dated the 50-year-old athlete since 2009.  Jordan and Prieto will reportedly tie the knot on April 27th.

Clearly, the basketball icon did not want to fall in to the catastrophic situation that he wound up in when he divorced his ex-wife, Juanita Vanoy. When Jordan married Vanoy, he had no pre-nup.

So when the former Mrs. Jordan exited the 17-year marriage citing irreconcilable differences, she received a reported consolation prize of $168 million, the couple’s 25,000-square-foot Chicago home, and full custody of their three children.

Report: Michael Jordan Paternity Case Dismissed

Just like that, the Michael Jordan paternity case is history.

Yes, we know. You’re so not surprised just like us. But what happened to make it thus, you ask?

Pamela Smith has filed legal documents in Georgia asking the judge to dismiss her case against Jordan. Her request was granted without prejudice (meaning she can refile at a later time if she wants to), according to TMZ.

It’s unclear why Pamela wanted the case dismissed — considering she had recently asked the court to order a DNA test ASAP.

It’s possible MJ and Pamela reached some sort of settlement … or agreed to halt legal action while they try to work things out. It’s also possible she simply decided to walk away thinking she would lose in court. We simply don’t know.

The bottom line is that Michael Jordan has succeeded in taking the situation out of the public eye … at least for the time being.

Now he can get married in peace.

Michael Jordan’s Alleged Baby Mama Heads to Court

The woman who accused NBA legend Michael Jordan of fathering her son had her day in court today.
Pamela Smith was due to go before Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane at 2 p.m. today. Smith’s attorney, Randy Kessler, is confident that Judge Tipton Lane won’t dismiss the case, per Jordan’s request.

Smith contends that Jordan fathered Grant Pierce Jordan Reynolds during a romantic fling 17 years ago, while Jordan was still married to his first wife, Juanita. But Jordan countered that Smith named her ex-husband as the boy’s father in divorce papers in 2005.

According to Rollingout Magazine (via NoMercyforYourFaves.com):

“Kessler said in a statement to press, “We are honored to have been asked to represent Ms. Smith who has been unable to resolve this matter herself. The vicious statements made in Mr. Jordan’s legal documents will be responded to in her own forthcoming pleadings, but at this time Ms. Smith wants to be clear. Her former husband Mr. Reynolds has not been involved in her child’s life since the divorce in 2005, has never paid support for the child and has shown no interest in the child. The claims by Respondent’s counsel that ‘It is troubling that Smith now inflicts measurable harm upon her son while seeking to deprive her son’s father Reynolds, of the rights and privileges of joint legal custody’ are completely unfounded and meant only to disparage her. Our client feels that Mr. Jordan had numerous opportunities to resolve this matter by having a simple conversation with her. If he claims he is not the father, a simple $300 saliva test could likely resolve the issue instead of further court or public involvement.”

Michael Jordan Getting Married: Basketball Star Applies For License To Wed In Florida

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Basketball legend Michael Jordan appears ready to get married again.

The former NBA star and Charlotte Bobcats owner and his fiancée appeared at the main Palm Beach County courthouse Thursday morning to apply for a marriage license. That’s according to Kathy Burstein, a spokeswoman for the clerk’s office. Jordan got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, in December 2011.

They have until May 9 to use their marriage license.

It will be the second marriage for No. 23. He married Juanita Vanoy in September 1989, and they divorced in 2006. They have two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.

Michael Jordan Asks Usher Raymond’s Judge to Dismiss Paternity Suit

NBA legend Michael Jordan has fired back at a sports groupie who claims he fathered her now 16-year-old son.

Jordan, 50, has asked Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane to dismiss the paternity suit filed by Pamela Y. Smith in Fulton County in early February.

Smith, 48, claims Jordan fathered her teenage son during a fling while Jordan was still married to his first wife, Juanita.

Smith also claims to be a practicing “Loveologist,” and goes by the name Evette Smith on Twitter.

In his court filing, Jordan called the paternity suit a “shameless, bad faith attempt to abuse the legal system.”

Jordan plans to sue Smith “and others” for the “false claims” made against him.

In court documents Smith requested Jordan take a paternity test and pay child support for her son, Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, who is apparently named after several NBA stars.

But Jordan countered her claims in a statement to the Associated Press, saying:

“Public records show that the paternity of the child was established in a prior case in this same court many years ago and that Michael Jordan is not the father. He also filed a counterclaim seeking sanctions for the false claims made against him. It is unfortunate that well-known figures are the target of these kind of claims. Michael Jordan will vigorously defend himself and his reputation.”

Ironically, Smith’s publicist, April Love, emailed bloggers for months pitching interview requests for her client, rather than simply hiring an attorney.

To date, Smith still does not have an attorney. Continue reading

Michael Jordan Hit With Paternity Suit

Former Chicago Bulls basketball legend Michael Jordan faces a paternity suit from a woman who claims her 16-year-old son is his.

Multiple outlets are reporting the lawsuit was filed in Fulton County, Ga. by Pamela Smith, who claims she became pregnant after an affair with Jordan in 1995.

The boy, Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, also claims in a YouTube video posted in December that he is Jordan’s son. He says he’s met Jordan before and wants him to more in his life.

Smith seeks to retain full custody in the lawsuit, but is pursuing child support, medical expenses and to have his legal last name changed to Jordan.

Jordan was married to his wife, Juanita, at the time of the alleged tryst.
