Justin Timberlake’s fifth time hosting Saturday Night Live looked more like a party than a production. The multifaceted star brought both the laughs and music pulling double duty as host and performer. Timberlake’s return to the late night sketch show included several surprise appearances by veteran cast members (Steve Martin, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Martin Short, Andy Samberg) and hosts (Tom Hanks, Paul Simon, Candice Bergen, Alec Baldwin), a 15-member band, plus four backup dancers and even Jay-Z.
Seven years since releasing his last album, Timberlake will drop his third LP The 20/20 Experience this week, on March 15. So far, only the Jay-Z-assisted “Suit & Tie” and the follow-up single “Mirrors” have surfaced from the 10-track album. Sure there’s been some amateur concert footage of a couple of other new Timberlake tracks on YouTube, but, for the most part, the rest of the album remains a mystery. Timberlake performed the two singles on SNL with his band the Tennessee Kids and an unannounced walk-on from Jay-Z during “Suit & Tie.” Watch the performances below.
